Conservation Plainfield Event - Pond Management Seminar
7/8/2009

FREE! Jack Pizzo from Pizzo & Associates will be the presenter. The seminar will focus on the issue of water quality and provide an overview of factors that influence the overall quality of water. Environmental sustainability will also be discussed as well as how it relates to water quality. Conservation Plainfield was founded in 2001 as a cooperative venture of various government agencies and residents in the Plainfield community. Conservation Plainfield is a not-for-profit corporation in the State of Illinois proactive in planning for a sustainable future. Conservation Plainfield’s mission is executed through various programs, events, classes and projects. The mission of Conservation Plainfield is to raise awareness of ecological issues in the Plainfield area, increase public appreciation of the environment, and be proactive in planning for a sustainable future.  [more]

National Night Out - Teen Pool Party

The 24th annual National Night Out is a unique crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships,and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. Summer Photo Contest Entry Deadline
9/11/2009

The rules for this community-wide contest are simple: as you enjoy the summer season at our parks, capture these moments on your camera! Photos must be taken at Plainfield Park District parks, facilities or events. You may submit as many photos as you’d like throughout the season. Photo Contest Entry Forms are available online or at the Recreation/Administration Center, Streams Recreation Center, Normantown Trails Equestrian Center, and the Parks and Planning office. To enter your photos, pick-up or download an official Photo Contest Entry Form, print out an 8”x10” photo-quality print, enclose payment, and mail or drop-off to Kelly Banach at the Recreation/Administration Center, 23729 W. Ottawa St., Plainfield, IL 60544. Winning photos will be displayed in the Recreation/Administration Center! Prize categories include: best overall photos, best landscape photos and best people photos. Winning photos may be used in our publications or on our web site. Winners may be requested to submit a digital copy of their photo. Photos will not be returned. R $5 per photo/NR $7.50 per photo. Photographers of all ages welcome to submit photos!  [more]
