Claymation isn’t just for youngsters anymore! Each family group (friends welcome) will work together to create characters out of clay and bring their creations to life using digital cameras and animation software. The themes for this session are “Winter Wonderland” and “Fun in the Snow.” Each group will film its own movie, take home clay models

will be festively dressed for the event and will pose for as many pictures as you can take in 3 minutes. Pony rides will also be available. Rides are 10 minutes in length and helmets will be provided. Bring your camera as NTEC will not be providing a photographer or photos for this event. Please call ahead to book your pony ride time as those with reservations will be served first. We try to keep the ride times on schedule; however, it does take

The FREE event will begin at 5 p.m. and will culminate with a fireworks display at dusk. Participants are encouraged to bring blankets, picnic baskets, chairs and coolers for this all-ages event. Concessions will also be provided by the Plainfield Central High School Athletics Booster Club. (Please note that alcoholic beverages are not allowed on school or park district property.) The event will provide fun activities for the entire family, including an inflatable obstacle course, “Chalk It Up” sidewalk art, family games, bean bag toss, and Play Zone activities. The event will also include touch-a-truck opportunities including military, police, fire, and village vehicles, as well as representation by Operation Support Our Troops, an organization that sends care packages, as well as cards and letters of support from the community, to troops deployed overseas. A DJ will provide music throughout the evening, and the Plainfield Park District’s dance classes will perform at 7 p.m. [more]
