Advertising is available in the Plainfield Park District seasonal brochure. Advertising rates range from $390 to $1,535, depending on ad size and length of commitment. For a 2006 ad rate sheet, click here. The brochure is distributed three times a year, and the circulation is approximately 41,000 households via driveway delivery by a contracted service. Advertising and sponsorship opportunities are also available in specialized newsletters throughout the year, including monthly senior newsletters, teen newsletters, and school newsletters.
Event Sponsorship
Plainfield Fest: This community event takes place the third weekend in July, culminating with a fireworks display. Sponsorship opportunities range from $200 to $1,650 with appropriate recognition at each level. Custom sponsorships are available. Easter Egg Scramble: Promoted in the Park District brochure for ages 2 to 6, the event is open to Park District residents at no charge. Current funding needs are $2,000.
Games on the Go: A mobile day camp completely funded by sponsorship monies, there were eight sites in operation during the summer of 2005. The program is offered free of charge to first through fifth graders. Past and current sponsors include the City of Joliet (2 sites), the Friends of the Plainfield Park District Foundation, State Representative Tom Cross in cooperation with Diageo, the Kiwanis Club of Plainfield, the Kendall Ridge Homeowners Association, the Plainfield Health Care Center of Morris Community Hospital, and the Plainfield School District 202 Foundation for Excellence. Additional funding costs were offset by the Park District. Current sponsorship of a site is $2,500. Custom sponsorships are available.
Halloween Program Series: Safe Halloween-related activities for the entire family, including a Haunted Hayrack Ride (two nights), Craft Night (limited enrollment), and Fun Fair Carnival with entertainment (open to public with game tickets available at event). Sponsorships range from $50 to $200 with appropriate recognition at each level.
Park Pride: The kick-off of the summer season, these volunteer-driven clean-ups in Park District parks are supervised by Park District staff. Volunteers are treated to a light lunch followed by an environmental program. Past programs have included: SOAR (Save Our American Raptors), Cold Blooded Creatures (reptile educator), and Big Run Wolf Ranch (federally licensed ranch for North American predators). Sponsorships cover volunteer t-shirts, environmental program and lunch cost, and range from $150 to $250.
Senior Programs: A wide variety of sponsorship opportunities are available, ranging from bingo prizes to refreshments to entertainment for special events. Opportunities are also available to subsidize programming costs. Custom sponsorships are available starting at $50.
Other sponsorship opportunities are also available, ranging from equipment for various programs and facilities to special event opportunities for various age groups. Custom packages can be arranged by calling the Park District’s Business and Community Relations Manager at (815) 436-8812.
