Full-Time Positions

Recreation Supervisor-Facilities and Athletics

General Purpose:

Coordinate use of outdoor athletic facilities for park district programs and outside sports groups; manage aquatic facility operations; and supervise, plan, implement, and schedule assigned programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, plan, implement and promote programming as assigned.
  • Hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff & volunteers for programs under Recreation Supervisor-Facility and Athletics direction.
  • Prepare and enter description and information for seasonal program brochures.
  • Prepare and maintain budgets for assigned areas.  Including budget development according to district revenue policy, budget entry, seasonal review and 6 month review.
  • Evaluate program content and staff performance through observation and attendance records as well as participant evaluations and instructor comments.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date files and records relating to program financials, personnel, equipment and supplies needed for program operations.
  • Secure required documentation and program agreements from contractors.
  • Address inquiries and concerns in a timely fashion.
  • Follow District and departmental purchasing procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and other Park District staff.
  • Attend department and other District meetings as directed.
  • Act as liaison to outside sports organizations; coordinate and schedule park district field usage for outside sports organizations.
  • Manage and revise contracts relating to outside sports organizations under the direction of the Superintendent of Recreation.
  • Perform routine aquatics maintenance to ensure continued operations of the district aquatic facility.
  • Work varying schedules and hours as required to fulfill the duties of the position, including some weekend hours.
  • Performs any additional related tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to work with outside organizations, contractors, co-workers and participants to ensure the success of assigned program and facility areas. Excellent oral and written comprehension and expression. Mathematical reasoning and time management skills required. Must be able to operate motor vehicle, golf cart, small power tools, video camera, telephone, PC, camera.  

 

Education and/or Training:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree from an accredited university in Parks and Recreation or a related field. 
  • Minimum five years recreation programming and management in recreation, facilities, athletics, or related field.

 

Salary Range:

Mid 40’s DOQ

Volunteers
The Normantown Trails Equestrian Center is NOT accepting applications for volunteers at this time.


The Plainfield Park District utilizes a variety of part-time employees. Part-time teaching
opportunities may be available for the following program categories: Early Childhood,
Dance, Fitness, General Interest, Athletics (Scorekeepers and Referees) and Arts &
Crafts. Applications for part-time jobs are accepted year round. Persons interested in
